Angry Residents Stops Contractor From Moving Equipment From Site Over Attempt To Abandon Gomoa Nyanyano Road Project.

Residents and commuters at Gomoa Nyanyano clashed with a road contractor after workers allegedly attempted to remove construction equipment and logistics from an ongoing road project feared to have been abandoned.

According to eyewitnesses, tension escalated when workers of Justmoh Construction began loading equipment, materials, and logistics onto a loadbed vehicle and other trucks in preparation to leave the project site.

The contractor reportedly cited non-payment as the reason for halting work on the road.

They are being angered by the development and frustrated over years of poor road conditions and delays in the construction works, residents and commuters confronted the workers and prevented the vehicles from leaving the area.

Some of the aggrieved residents reportedly seized the loadbed vehicle and other construction equipment insisting that work on the road must continue until completion.

Residents say the deteriorating condition of the road has negatively affected transportation, businesses, and daily economic activities in the community.

Several residents accused the contractor of abandoning the project without completing the agreed work.

Speaking on the incident, A Traditional Leader being the Head of Zongo Chiefs in Gomoa Assin Traditional council Sariki Awudu Issaka Giwaa has confirmed congratulated the youth for the actions to stop the contractor from moving his equipment from the site.

He has however, threatened to demonstrate with his people if the government did not call the contractor to order
