Ashanti Regional Police Arrest 15 Over Besease Palace Vandalism.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested 15 suspects in connection with the vandalism of the Besease Palace, which occurred two and a half months ago.

It could be recalled that on 12th March, 2026 during the final burial of late Nana Ama Amako(Late Queen of Besease), some irate youth brought confusion but police intervened to brings calm.

On the next day, some of the residents besieged the Besease Palace to vandalize the palace and properties which escalated to spoilt of police car and ambulance.

The case was before Abuakwa Police and Ashanti Regional command of which 15 suspects are in police custody for investigations and court action.

Among those arrested is Hon. Osei Tutu( Hiawu Besease Assembly man, some unit committee members and other leading residents along with some unit committee members and other residents of the area.

Police say the arrests follow investigations into the incident that led to damage to property at the palace. The suspects are currently assisting with investigations.
