Dunkwahene Urges Residents To Support Police With Credible Information.

The Dunkwahene, Okofrobour Obeng Nuako III, has called for stronger collaboration between residents and security agencies to address crime and enhance public safety within the Upper Denkyira East Municipality.
He made the call during the 4th Akwasidae celebration held at Obeng Nuako Ahenfi on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
Expressing concern over the increasing incidents of theft and other criminal activities in Dunkwa and its surrounding communities, Okofrobour Obeng Nuako III urged residents to provide the police with credible and timely information that could aid investigations and lead to the arrest of offenders.
According to the him, effective policing requires active community participation, as residents are often in a position to provide vital intelligence that can support law enforcement efforts.
He, however, emphasized the need for police officers to protect the identities of informants, noting that confidentiality is essential to building public trust and encouraging citizens to cooperate with security agencies without fear of victimization.
Beyond security concerns, the Dunkwahene also raised alarm over the risk of flooding as the rainy season intensifies.
He appealed to residents occupying areas along waterways and other flood-prone locations to relocate to safer places to avoid possible disasters.
Okofrobour Obeng Nuako III further urged the public to desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse into drains and watercourses, stressing that proper sanitation and environmental cleanliness remain critical measures in preventing flooding and safeguarding lives and property.
He called on residents, traditional authorities, and relevant state institutions to work collectively towards maintaining a safe, clean, and resilient community.
End.
