Police Arrest ‘Gang Leader’ Over Obuasi Murder..

The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man believed to be the leader of a gang behind the murder of Abdul Jabal Suleman.

The suspect, Seidu Masawudu alias Marshall was arrested at Soe in Bongo, Upper East Region, on Saturday, July 11, 2026.

Addressing the media, Deputy Regional police Commander in charge of Operations ACP Cephas Arthur said Marshall was wanted for the killing of Suleman.
The incident happened in the early hours of July 9, 2026, at Abompe New Site.

Marshall was wanted for the killing of Suleman at Abompe New Site. Through intelligence, we tracked and arrested him at his hideout in Bongo.

According to a statement signed by DCOP Joseph Hammond Nyaaba, the victim was attacked around 2:20am by armed men with guns and cutlasses.
He was rushed to the AngloGold Ashanti Hospital but was pronounced dead.

Police say Marshall admitted involvement in the killing.
He also named eight other accomplices.
A manhunt is underway to arrest them.

The suspects named are Happy Bowman alias O’Boy, Mallam Karim, Malik, Balanga, Basit, Nazir, Nuhu, and Jedus alias Baron.

Police say the attack was linked to gang rivalry.
Marshall’s 22-year-old girlfriend was also arrested at Tweapease for questioning.

Marshall will be arraigned after police procedures are completed.

The Command has also warned the public against sharing a viral assault video online.
Police say the video is not related to the Obuasi murder case.
