Chief Of Ankwane -Dobro Nana Eku -Yaw II Appeals For Shs And Okada Regulation.

Nana Eku-Yaw, Chief of Ankwane-Dobro in the Nsawam Municipality, has appealed to government to establish a Senior High School in this community to improve access to education.

Speaking during the enstoolment ceremony of his Sub-Chief in Ankwane-Dobro, Nana Eku-Yaw said the lack of a SHS in the area forces students to travel long distances, which affects academic performance and leads to high dropout rates.

He said the community need a Senior High School so their children can learn closer to home and have better opportunities for the future.

Nana Eku-Yaw also called on government and the Ghana Police Service to regulate the operations of commercial motorbike riders, popularly known as Okada.

According to him, reckless riding by Okada operators has contributed to frequent road accidents in this community.

He further expressed concern that some Okada riders are responsible for the rising cases of teenage pregnancy in the community.

Proper regulation of Okada riders will help reduce accidents on our roads and protect our young girls.

He urged the Government, the Ministry of Education, and security agencies to collaborate and address the educational and social challenges facing Ankwane-Dobro.

He made this call during the Sub-Chiefs Enstoolment celebration at Ankwane-Dobro

Nana Owusu Anakwa II, Kingsmaker of the Ahwease Traditional Council, has called on all sub-chiefs in Ankwane-Dobro to unite and work together to ensure peace in the community.

Speaking to traditional leaders and residents, Nana Owusu Anakwa II said unity among chiefs is key to development and progress.

He said let us put aside our differences and come together as one.

When there is peace and unity among our sub-chiefs, development is assured for the good people of Ankwane-Dobro.

In an interview with Angle News Reporter Van, the Kingsmaker stressed that division and misunderstanding among leaders slow down projects and deprive communities of government support and investor confidence.

He urged the sub-chiefs to focus on issues that matter to the people, including education, health, and security, and to support initiatives that will improve livelihoods in the area.
