Hon.Joana Gyan Cudjoe Drives Major Transformation In Amenfi Central With Infrastructure, Jobs And Social Support Initiatives.

Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, is spearheading what constituents are calling the most ambitious development rollout in the constituency’s recent history, with major projects spanning healthcare, education, security, economic empowerment, and youth employment.
Since assuming office, the MP has prioritized delivering tangible results across all sectors, leveraging her MP’s Common Fund and partnerships with NGOs, the District Assembly, and local communities.
Healthcare: Bringing Services Closer to the People.
Hon. Cudjoe is expanding access to quality health services through the continuation of the Ankwaso CHPS Compound and the construction of new CHPS facilities at Sraha Ayiem, Ankasie, Jedua Kese, Adidaase, and Hiaw.
She is also building a maternity block with theatre at Manso Amenfi to address maternal health needs in the area.
*Security and Education Infrastructure*
To strengthen law and order, new *police stations are under construction at Sraha Ayiem and Achichire*.
In education, the MP is continuing work on *Wuratrem DA Primary and Ankasie DA Primary Schools*, building a *new primary school at Kramokrom*, a *3-unit classroom block at Bantoma*, a *KG block at Agona Camp*, and a *3-unit JHS classroom at Sompre*.
She has also launched the *“Schools Under Trees Project”* to eliminate makeshift classrooms, partnering with an NGO to provide modern facilities for communities where children currently learn under trees.
*Economic Growth and Youth Empowerment*
Economic development is a key pillar. Hon. Cudjoe is developing a *24-hour Economy Market at Agona Amenfi* and a *new market at Juabo* to give traders modern facilities and create jobs.
She employs *35 community teachers* across *28 basic schools* in the constituency, paying them between *GHS 800 and GHS 1,000 monthly* to address teacher shortages in rural areas.
The MP also runs a *block factory* where she spends about *GHS 40,000 weekly on wages* for youth, and recently funded *85 youth* to attend a Work Abroad Screening Exercise in Sekondi-Takoradi.
*Social Inclusion*
In August 2025, Hon. Cudjoe supported *42 Persons with Disabilities* with chest freezers, wheelchairs, fufu pounding machines, sewing machines, cocoa spraying machines, and cash support.
The initiative, done with the District Assembly and Department of Social Welfare, aimed to promote independence and livelihoods.
*Community Engagement*
Following government approval for major road projects, the MP urged youth to join *road construction training* in block moulding and other skills to ensure locals benefit directly.
She has also championed the reconstruction of the *Anomatewa-Beposo bridge*.
Speaking during a three-day development tour, Hon. Cudjoe said her vision is to “transform communities, improve living standards, and create opportunities for sustainable development”.
Constituents and local leaders say the MP’s hands-on approach and focus on healthcare, education, and jobs are already changing the face of Amenfi Central.
