Youth Urged To Desist From Drug Abuse To Prevent Kidney Diseases In Ghana – Mankrado.

The Omankrado of Opeikuma-Kumbe in the Central Region, Nana Prampeh Abɛhoadze, has cautioned the youth against drug abuse, linking it to the rising cases of kidney related diseases in the country.

Speaking at a press conference to announce the launch of the opeikuma -Kumbe Unity Gala, Nana Abɛhoadze expressed worry over the growing health challenges facing young people.

The Unity Gala will begin on Saturday, August 1, 2026, with a health walk.

The walk will include free health screening, and individuals diagnosed with any illness will receive 30% support for their treatment.

According to the traditional leader, the abuse of illicit drugs among the youth is contributing to the increasing cases of kidney-related conditions.

He therefore urged young people to desist from drug use and to adopt healthy lifestyles to safeguard their health and future.

Meanwhile, organizers of the event have encouraged the youth to participate in the unity walk and other activities to showcase their talents.

They also cautioned against drug abuse and highlighted its negative consequences on health.
