Twifoman Hene Alive And Kicking – Queen Mothers Debunk Death Rumours

Queen mothers from the Twifoman Traditional Council in Ghana’s Central Region have debunked rumors circulating on social media and traditional media that Obrempong Appiah-Nuamah III, President of the Twifo Traditional Council, has passed away.

Nana Abena Antwiwaa II, Queen Mother of the Traditional Area, condemned the rumors, emphasizing that it’s unacceptable to declare someone alive and kicking as dead.

The Queen Mother clarified that it’s actually the Twifo Hemang Omanhene, Otumfour Amoah-Sasraku III, who has passed away, and the Hemang Traditional Council is preparing for his burial.

She explained that this misinformation has created tension and misunderstanding between the Twifoman Traditional Council and the Hemang Traditional Council.

To resolve the ongoing chieftaincy issues in the Twifo Area, Nana Abena Antwiwaa II called upon Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, the Minister of Chieftaincy, the National House of Chiefs, and the National Peace Council to intervene.

Twifo Ayinase Queenmother, Nana Abena Amoanimaa III, also emphasized the need for prompt action to prevent further conflict, highlighting the history of Twifo and the importance of swift action in preventing chieftaincy conflicts.

Obrempong Appiah-Nuamah III, a former Council of State member, himself confirmed that he is alive and has not passed away, expressing disappointment at the rumors.
