Bawumia Provides Financial Support To Electrocuted NPP Polling Station Youth Organizer At Twifo Praso

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Vice President of Ghana and 2024 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has shown immense generosity by presenting GH₵100,000.00 to support Bernard Mensah, a victim of electrocution.

In July 2024, Bernard Mensah, the NPP Youth Organizer for the Twifo Amampomah polling station in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa Constituency of the Central Region, was tragically electrocuted while carrying out a task assigned by the party to install streetlights in the district.

The incident left him with severe injuries to his legs, stomach, back, and hands. As a result, Bernard had to have his left hand amputated, and the entire left side of his body was left paralyzed.

Bernard Mensah, a married man and father of two children who are currently in Senior High School and Junior High School, has faced considerable challenges as a result of this life-altering accident.

Upon learning of the severity of his condition, Dr. Bawumia, through the efforts of the Twifo Atti-Morkwa Constituency executives and the Central Regional Party leadership, immediately reached out to offer his support.

On 17th March 2024, Dr. Bawumia delegated Mr. Percy Dennis (Capo), the Central Regional Chairman of the NPP, and Mr. Takyi Mensah, the Regional Secretary, to deliver the donation to Bernard Mensah on his behalf.

The funds were presented with the hope of alleviating some of the difficulties Bernard has been facing in his recovery.

Additionally, in a gesture of hope and solidarity, Dr. Bawumia personally spoke with Bernard Mensah on the phone.

His words of encouragement were aimed at lifting Bernard’s spirits and providing moral support during this challenging time.

Speaking to Angel News, Mr. Percy Dennis expressed Dr. Bawumia’s heartfelt sympathy for Bernard and his commitment to ensuring that the party continues to support its members in times of hardship.

In response, the victim, Bernard Mensah expressed his deep gratitude for Dr. Bawumia’s timely and generous donation, stating that it would go a long way in assisting with his recovery and providing for his family during these trying times.
