Galamsey Fight Is A Task For  Ghanaias ….. Omanhene Of Twifo Mampong

The Paramount Chief of Twifo Mampong Traditional Council and Former Council of State Member/ Vice President of Central Regional House of Chiefs, Obrempon Appiah Nuamah ii, has called on fellow Ghanaians to support in all dubious ways to fight against illegal mining activities destroying our water bodies and degrading the forest reserves in the country.

He said, it is a collectively responsibility for each and every one to make an effort to ensure that social canker affecting and poising health related issues to residents around Mining Areas.

He therefore cited policies and attempts to fight galamsey during NPP era proved furtail and new government to lay down drastic measures to revoke licenses of some illegal miners is a right way to fight the galamsey activities.

In addition, Obrempon Appiah Nuamah ii, commended President John Dramani Mahama for involving Nananom in the decision making as Authorities in their respective traditional areas to ensure smooth operations and enforcement of the law.

He added that powers given to Ministers of State and Member of Parliamentso are over riding on Nananom to act effectively for the nation building.
