CoCoboa Ceo Announces New Cocoa Farmgate Price To Surpass Ivory Coast In August

Dr. Randy Abbey, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), has confirmed that a new cocoa farmgate price will be announced in August 2025.

This price is expected to exceed that of the Ivory Coast, Ghana’s neighbouring cocoa-producing country.

The Ghana Cocoa Board CEO, Dr Randy Abbey, has confirmed that the government will announce a new cocoa producer price in August.

Dr. Abbey emphasized that the new price strategy is designed to support Ghanaian cocoa farmers by offering a more competitive rate than that of the Ivory Coast.

This move underscores Ghana’s commitment to enhancing the livelihoods of its cocoa farmers and maintaining its position in the global cocoa market.

His comment followed when he paid a working visit to some cocoa farmers and cocobod staff in the Western North Region l.

However, during his visit to the Sehwi Boako cocoa station in the Sehwi Wiawso Municipality, the CEO expressed concerns about a heap of cocopeat left to rot at the office.
