W/R President Akufo-Addo Criticizes Former President Mahama, Calling Him A Failed President
President Nana Akufo-Addo has criticized former President John Dramani Mahama, labeling him as a “failed president” and pointing to his performance as the reason Ghanaians refused to re-elect him for a second term.
Akufo-Addo argued that Ghanaians only grant a second term to leaders who demonstrate strong performance and effective governance during their first term.
According to Akufo-Addo, Mahama’s record did not meet these standards, leading to his loss in the 2016 elections.
These comments were made during Akufo-Addo’s farewell tour in the Western Region, where he expressed gratitude to the region for its support during his presidency. The President took this opportunity to remind Ghanaians of what he believes is his own record of accomplishment and commitment to national development, contrasting it with what he described as Mahama’s shortcomings.
During his speach the President Akufo-Addo promised the completion of two major projects in the Western Regional capital , that is the PTC interchange and the Takoradi market circle redevelopment before he leaves power with just a month to the election .
Addressing a gathering of chiefs , clergy , imams , heads of institutions and party faithfuls he maintained his government has done its due for region.
The president underscored the Western Region’s significant development under his leadership, citing key projects and improvements across the economy and infrastructure.
He further emphasized that these two projects which have been stalled for months will be completed by the end of his tenure .
