Driver And Mate Escape Death After Armed Robbers Attack At The Same Spot Berekum Chelsea Player Were Killed On BibianiI – Goaso Road.

Driver and his mate have narrowly escaped death after armed robbers attacked their cargo truck on the Bibiani-Goaso road.

The incident occurred at Kwame DwumaSereso in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region.

Victim Mohammed Yakubu, aged 60, was driving a blue-black Mitsubishi cargo truck with registration number AW 621-12 from Akodie towards Kumasi.

Upon reaching Kwame DwumaSereso, armed robbers shot into the vehicle, injuring him in the belly.

An eyewitness, Sampson Dwumah, narrated that the robbers had blocked the road between 9:30pm and 10:00pm.

When they spotted the cargo truck, the driver signaled that he had been shot. Residents quickly rushed the injured driver to the Bibiani Government Hospital.

Residents of Sereso say they are living in fear due to the rampant armed robbery attacks in the area.

They are appealing to the Inspector General of Police to immediately mount police checkpoints along the road to bring the situation under control.
