Abura Kwaduagya Pastor Arrested For Allegedly Setting Lover’s House Ablaze.

The Assin South District Police Command has arrested the Founder and Leader of Christ Pentecostal Church, Prophet Mark Dzimah, for allegedly setting his partner’s house on fire at Abura Kwaduagya.

The suspect was picked up on Sunday, March 1, to assist with investigations and has since been granted bail pending further police inquiries.

Confirming the development to Angel News, the Assin South District Police Commander, DSP Robert Kyeremeh, stated that the case remains under active investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, adding that the suspect has denied the allegation.

He noted that the suspect will be arraigned before the court upon the completion of the investigation.

The victim, Joyce Akomaning, 47, a seamstress, revealed that she has two children with the suspect but ended the relationship due to alleged physical and emotional abuse.

She believes the pastor, angered by the breakup, set her single-room residence ablaze.

Madam Akomaning has expressed concern over what she describes as the slow pace of investigations, indicating that two months after the incident, little progress has been made.

Recounting her ordeal, she said the fire destroyed all her belongings, including three sewing machines, television sets, cash, a mattress, clothing, travel documents, school uniforms, and bags, items she estimates to be worth thousands of cedis.

She is currently seeking shelter with friends together with her children and is appealing to the police to expedite investigations and ensure justice is served.

She also called on the public and relevant stakeholders to support her as she rebuilds her life.

Eyewitnesses told Kesben News’ Shadrack Owusu Asante that the fire started around 9:00 p.m. on Friday, and efforts to extinguish it were unsuccessful.

According to them, personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service at Abura Dunkwa responded promptly but faced challenges accessing the scene due to the layout of the buildings, leading to the complete destruction of the property.
