We Climb Hills Just To Make A Call” Boahenkwa Residents Cry Out Over Poor Network, Roads And No Clinic.

Residents of Boahenkwa in the Atwima Nwahiagya North District of the Ashanti region are living on the edge due to poor mobile network, deplorable roads, and the complete absence of a health facility, forcing them to risk their lives for basic services.

According to residents, making a simple phone call has become a daily struggle.

They say they must gather at one spot on a hill or under a tree where the signal is barely strong enough, and even then calls drop frequently.

“The network here is terrible. If you want to call, you have to go to that one place and hope it works. In an emergency, that delay can cost a life,” a resident said.

The poor road network is worsening the situation.

Residents describe the road leading into Boahenkwa as almost impassable, cutting off the community and making it difficult for commercial drivers and emergency services to access the area.

The biggest concern, however, is healthcare. Boahenkwa has no CHPS compound or hospital.

When someone falls ill, especially at night, families are forced to hire motorcycles and travel long distances to the nearest town for treatment.

“When someone falls sick at night, we have to rush them on a motorcycle all the way to worapong.

Many times, people get worse on the way because we can’t get help in time,” another resident explained.

The residents say their health is constantly at risk, and the lack of a nearby facility is putting mothers, children, and the elderly in danger.

They are appealing to the Atwima Nwahiagya North District Chief Executive Hon Mba Zakaria to come to their aid.
