24 Hour Economy Market Shall Curb Unemployment In The Our System- DCE

The 24 Hour Economy Market Sekyere Central District Assembly led by the DCE,Hon Samuel Somuah has cut the sod for the construction of a modern 24-hour economy market at Nsuta in the Sekyere Central District in the Ashanti Region.

It is part of H E the President John Dramani Mahama broader agenda to drive economic growth and improved infrastructure development in the districts.

The sod-cutting ceremony formed part of the President’s nationwide resetting agenda, which seeks to bring government closer to citizens, engage grass-roots communities, and provide updates on national policies and development initiatives.

According to the DCE,the facility, when completes it will consist of a day-care centre, restaurants, police and fire stations, a clinic, cold storage units, a lorry station, lockable shops, warehouses, offices for market management, improved sanitation systems to support traders and 24/7 banking services for traders and non-traders to take advantage.

At the ceremony to commence construction works at Nsuta last Friday,5th June ,2026 the DCE recalled the famous Nsuta market and its long-standing reputation as a vibrant trading centre for many years.

According to the Paramount Chief of Nsuta, “historically, Nsuta has been a market town for many years, but over time, the infrastructure has not kept pace, affecting its redevelopment and growth “.
Nana Asamoah Gyamfi Sekyere II added that the new market is part of a nationwide initiative to develop 261 modern district-level market.

I urgent and pleading with H E the president, John Dramani Mahama to fulfill his promises to complete this market to be useful to the Nsutaman, the surrounding areas and the people of Ashanti,Nana Asamoah Gyamfi Sekyere II stated.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Sekyere Central, Nsuta Kwamang Beposo Constituency, Mrs Adelaide Yaa Agyeiwaa, said such an initiative would transform the district and boost the local economy.

Make sure you the NDC government complete the important legacy project which the previous government left that is the agenda 111 initiatives in the Sekyere Central District,Hon Adelaide caution and appealed to the current government during her speech at the ceremony.
