KATH OPD Turns ‘Cemetery’ As Doctors’ Strike Hits Day 3, Patients Abandoned.

The Outpatient Department (OPD) of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi has been reduced to a ghost town as the doctors’ strike enters its fourth day.
A visit to the hospital this morning showed an unusually quiet OPD.
The consulting rooms were locked, nurses were idle, and the crowded waiting areas that usually host hundreds of patients were completely deserted.
The strike by KATH doctors, which began four days ago, has crippled outpatient services.
Patients who showed up for medical care were turned away, with many forced to return home or seek expensive treatment at private facilities.
