Hon. Alhaji Issaka Combat, Get’s 87% Endorsement From Assembly Members At Atwima Mponua.

The Atwima Mponua District Assembly successfully conducted the election of a Presiding Member in accordance with Section 17 of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), which requires every District Assembly to elect a Presiding Member for a two-year term.

The election followed the expiration of the tenure of the incumbent Presiding Member, Hon. Justice Nkrumah, who was first elected in 2024.
He was challenged by former two-term Presiding Member, Hon. Alhaji Issaka Combat, in a keenly contested election that demonstrated the Assembly’s commitment to democratic governance and the rule of law.

Following the voting process, neither candidate attained the two-thirds majority required by law for election.
However, in the spirit of unity, consensus and the collective interest of the Assembly, Hon. Justice Nkrumah graciously and voluntarily withdrew his candidacy to pave the way for a Yes and No vote on Hon. Alhaji Issaka Combat.

Subsequently, Hon. Combat secured an overwhelming 87% endorsement from members of the Assembly and was duly confirmed as the new Presiding Member of the Atwima Mponua District Assembly.
On behalf of the Assembly, I congratulate Hon. Alhaji Issaka Combat on his election and wish him a successful tenure.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Issahak Ibrahim also commend Hon. Justice Nkrumah for his exemplary leadership, statesmanship and invaluable service over the past two years.
The peaceful and orderly conduct of the election is a testament to the maturity, unity and democratic credentials of the Atwima Mponua District Assembly.

Hon. Issahak Ibrahim DCE, congratulations to the new Presiding Member, and best wishes as we continue working together for the development of Atwima Mponua.
