Naccoc Calls For Collaboration To Fight Against Drugs In School Children In Kasoa.

The Awutu Senya East Municipal Officer of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACCOC) has called for stronger collaboration among parents, schools, religious institutions, traditional leaders, and community stakeholders to intensify public education on drug abuse among school children.

The appeal was made during a public awareness programme organized by the Chieftaincy Ministry of The Church of Pentecost at Kasoa in the Central Region.

The event brought together students, traditional authorities and religious leaders to discuss the growing concerns surrounding drug abuse and its impact on young people.

Speaking at the programme, Awutu Senya East Municipal Commander of Naccoc, Superintendent Sandra Tetteh, emphasized the importance of creating continuous awareness among students to help them understand the dangers associated with substance abuse.

She noted that educating children at an early age is crucial in preventing drug-related problems and shaping responsible future citizens.

Superintendent Tetteh further urged parents to actively support anti-drug campaigns by engaging their children in discussions about the harmful effects of drugs and monitoring their activities.

Meanwhile some stakeholders, traditional leaders (Nananom) and clergy members, pledged their support towards efforts aimed at combating drug abuse within the municipality.

They encouraged parents, guardians, and the general public to remain vigilant and educate young people on the serious health, social, and economic consequences of substance abuse.

The stakeholders stressed that addressing drug abuse requires a collective effort and called on all sectors of society to work together to protect the youth from the dangers of illicit drug use.
