GIPC Shifts Investment Strategy To Expand Foreign Investment Beyond Accra.

The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) has announced a strategic shift in its investment promotion approach aimed at attracting more foreign and domestic investment into regions outside Accra after an assessment showed that the capital has received the bulk of Ghana’s foreign direct investment over the past three decades.

According to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of GIPC, Razak Baba, the Centre reviewed investment data following the assumption of office by the new administration and concluded that Ghana needed to diversify the geographical distribution of investments to unlock the economic potential of other regions.

He made this assertion during the 2026 Bono East Investment Roadshow at the conference hall of the Bono East Regional Coordinating Council, where all relevant stakeholders of the region where present to contribute to a fruitful discussion on how to attract investors into the region.

Razak Baba disclosed that while investors had historically concentrated their operations in Accra because of better infrastructure, every region in the country possesses unique economic opportunities capable of supporting industrial growth.

Supporting GIPC’s agenda, the Bono East Regional Minister, Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi, said the region possesses significant comparative advantages that make it attractive for investors, particularly in agriculture, livestock and tourism.

End.
