Kwadaso Agric College Students Appeal For Re-Introduction Of Allowance.
Students of the Kwadaso College of Agriculture have appealed to government for the reintroduction of their trainee allowance, citing financial hardship and its impact on their academic work.
According to the students, many of them struggle to pay their school fees and other academic expenses, a situation that compels them to return home to work in order to raise money before coming back to school.
They disclosed that this cycle of leaving school to work and returning has been affecting their studies and practical training.
“The reintroduction of the allowance will be a great relief to us. It will help us stay in school, concentrate on our studies and complete our training without interruption,” a student said.
They noted that currently they are suffering financially, and the situation is negatively affecting academic work and hands-on agricultural training.
The students made the appeal during a ceremony at the college where the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP) and KOICA, presented modern Agric-Tech equipment and digital tools to five agricultural colleges.
They are hopeful that government, through the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, will consider their plea and reinstate the Allowance to ease their burden.
