Ashanti Regional Minister Joins Massive Clean-Up Exercise In Tepa

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has led a massive clean-up exercise in Tepa, located in the Ahafo Ano North Municipal Assembly (ANNMA), on Saturday, July 5, 2025.

The initiative is part of a nationwide directive from President John Dramani Mahama, urging all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to engage in regular clean-up exercises to promote environmental cleanliness and improve public health.

Dr. Amoakohene was warmly welcomed to Tepa by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Akwasi Adusei, and the Tepamanhene, Professor Nana Adusei Atwenewah Ampem I.

Addressing participants during the exercise, Dr. Amoakohene emphasized the President’s vision for each district to take responsibility for maintaining clean and healthy surroundings.

He noted that the decision to decentralize the clean-up efforts would create opportunities for local companies to be contracted to manage waste and sanitation services within their respective communities.

“The President believes that decentralizing the clean-up exercise empowers local businesses and ensures that each district actively participates in keeping the environment clean,” Dr. Amoakohene said.

He further indicated that the government’s decentralization agenda extends beyond sanitation, covering areas such as health, education, borehole construction, and water provision.
