Police And NRSA Clamp Down On Unregistered Riders In Kenyasi

On Thursday, July 17, the Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) and the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), organized an educational session for okada (motorcycle) and pragya (tricycle) riders at Kenyasi in the Asutifi North District of the Ahafo Region.
The Kenyasi District Police Commander, Supt. Opoku Yamoah, urged the riders to register their motorcycles and tricycles with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).
He cautioned that riders who fail to comply with the registration requirement will be prosecuted and fined.
He also emphasized the importance of safety, urging riders to wear helmets and provide helmets for their passengers, especially okada operators.
Madam Indira Apronti, the Ahafo Regional Director of the NRSA, also advised riders to wear helmets at all times, avoid overloading, and refrain from reckless riding to ensure road safety.
