Akwatia NPP Warned Against Imposition Of Candidate Ahead Of By-Election
A group within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Akwatia constituency of Eastern region by name, Gallant Patriots led by the convenor, Akonoba Nana Boadu has warned the party leadership of imposition of a candidate ahead of Akwatia constituency by-election.
Addressing the press during a presser held by the Gallant Patriots in Akyem Boadua in the Akwatia constituency, the convenor, Akonoba Nana Boadua warned the leadership of NPP in the Akwatia constituency against the imposition of a candidate for the by-election.
He explained that there is no unity in the party already, therefore should they impose a candidate for the by-election instead of conducting a primary to choose a candidate will widen the division in the party hence, the party will loose the seat to the opponent.
He added that any true and competent member of the party in the Akwatia constituency who is eligible to contest to become the parliamentary candidate for the upcoming Akwatia by-election should be allowed, which the Gallant Patriots believe is the only better option to get the party united for victory.
He further added that if the party leadership fail to listen to their plea and warning and go ahead to impose on them a candidate, then they should forget NPP winning the Akwatia by-election because it will widen the division in the party and many people wouldn’t vote for the party.
