Gunfire Erupts As Police Foil Bank Robbery At Gomoa Pomadze

A dramatic gun battle broke out at Gomoa Pomadze in the Gomoa central of the central region when suspected armed robbers attempted to break into Microfin Rural Bank in Pomadze.

According report, the incident happened on early hours of Sunday August 17th 2025, after the suspected robbers attempted to break into the bank for operation.

Report gathered by Angel news correspondent Opanyin Darko revealed that, the robbers stormed the bank around 1am in the midnight overpowering and tying up four security officers on duty before breaking into the premises.

The robbers were reportedly preparing to loot cash when the police patrol team arrived at the scene.

According to police source, the robbers sensed danger, opened fire on the police patrol team, sparking a fierce exchange of gunshots.

The robbers runaway to avoid arrest after they were reportedly sensing defeat.

Items retrieved by the police at the scene include two empty BB cartridges, iron bars, a saw blade, cutting plates, new padlocks, a pump machine gun , cartridges and a set of door lockers.
