Two Children Drown In Deadly Drain At Gbawe

Two children have drowned in a dangerous drainage system at Gbawe Zero Machandi Estates in the Weija Gbawe Municipality.

Residents say the drain, which has been badly eroded by running water, has become a death trap for both pedestrians and drivers.
They explain that for the past two months, they have reported the situation to the Municipal Chief Executive, but no action has been taken.

The angry residents fear the situation could get worse with the next rainfall, as the erosion is already eating into the main road.

According to them, if urgent steps are not taken, the road could be cut into two, leading to another disaster.

Administrator of the Keep My Word Cathedral of the Lighthouse Chapel, Ms. Rev. Selasie Wemegah, has also joined the calls, appealing to the Assembly to step in quickly.

She warns that failure to act immediately could expose the entire community to yet another tragedy.
