School Closed In South Tongu After Mysterious Black Powder Substance Found At Head teachers Office

A primary school in the Dendo Electoral Area of the South Tongu municipality has been temporarily closed due to a mysterious black powdered substance found at the entrance of the headteacher’s office.

The school, Dendo Primary School, was closed on Wednesday, September 18.

The Assembly member confirmed the closure, stating the decision was made by the Municipal Education Directorate in collaboration with the community to protect everybody, including the students.

Community leaders are seeking spiritual and communal intervention, and traditional rites will be performed to cleanse the school compound.

The school is expected to reopen by next week.

The Municipal Director of Education has expressed concern about similar past incidents and is calling for community involvement in security, including setting up a community watchdog.

The headteacher is expected to be transferred due to issues with some indigenes.

The incident highlights the need for cooperation between the community and authorities to prevent future occurrences.
