Chief Of Gwira Banso Rewards 5 Citizens With GHS 50,000 For Arresting Illegal Miners In Draw Forest

In a bold move to combat illegal mining activities, the Chief of Gwira Banso, Nana Ette Akrade II, has fulfilled his promise by awarding five indigenes of the community a total of 50,000 Ghana cedis.
The reward was given in recognition of their courageous efforts in apprehending 5 illegal miners operating in the Draw Forest, located in the Nzema East District of the Western Region.
Determined to protect the land and water bodies of Gwira Banso, the chief and his elders had earlier issued a call to action, pledging a cash reward to anyone who could assist in arresting individuals engaged in illegal mining within the protected Draw Forest area.
True to his word, Nana Ette Akrade II honored the brave individuals who responded to the call and helped in the arrest of the perpetrators.
During a brief community engagement at Gwira Banso in the Nzema East,the chief praised the efforts of the five residents, describing their actions as patriotic and a testament to the unity and vigilance of the people of Gwira Banso.
Nana Ette Akrade again warn anyone who will be arrested in the forest will face the law including his own family members.
Leaders of the volunteers who were awarded by Nana Ette Akrade said, they are willing to protect the forest but lack logistics so they are appealing for logistics to curb illegal mining at the draw forest.
