Government To Ensure Students From Abi Community Will No Longer Travel Long Distances To Access J.h.s Education…..Berekum West D.c.e.

The Berekum West District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Collins Asumah, has announced that the NDC government, under the leadership of President Mahama, has revealed plans to construct a new three-unit classroom block.

This facility is intended to serve as a Junior High School (JHS) block for the residents of the Abi community, ensuring that students will no longer need to travel long distances to access JHS education.

Hon. Asumah made this commitment while addressing a gathering of traditional leaders and residents of Abi, a suburb within the Berekum West District, during the Munufie Yam Festival celebrations.
He acknowledged that the traditional leaders have communicated the community’s challenges, and he, alongside the Member of Parliament and the President, is committed to diligently working towards resolving some of these issues.

He emphasized that the new infrastructure is designed to provide much-needed relief in terms of educational facilities, thereby enabling teachers and students to engage in a more effective learning environment by addressing the current shortage of classrooms for JHS education.

Nana Oppong Taah Senti, the Chief of Abi, expressed his frustration regarding the persistent unfulfilled promises made by politicians.
He emphasized his expectation that the promise to construct classroom blocks will be realized to facilitate educational progress in the area.

Furthermore, he highlighted that, in addition to the classroom block, other developmental projects are necessary to advance the progress of the Abi community.

These projects include electricity extension initiatives to illuminate the community and enhance security.

Nana Afia Ankamah Bermah, the Queen Mother of Abi, reveals that the Munufie Yam Festival offers an opportunity for community members and families to reunite after having dispersed from the community for employment and other life pursuits stressing that the festival signifies unity and coexistence.
