Kwesimintsim Mp Orders Quality Assurance, Threatens Court Action Against Shoddy Contractors

The Member of Parliament for Kwesimintsim, Hon. Fiifi Buckman, has issued a firm warning to contractors working on five new developmental projects under the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly (EKMA), cautioning that any substandard work will attract strict sanctions, including possible legal action.

The projects comprising three schools, a hospital, and an astroturf—are being funded through the District Assembly Common Fund, Internally Generated Funds, and support from development partners.

Speaking during the sod-cutting ceremony, Hon. Buckman stressed that these investments are public funds and must be protected through high-quality workmanship.

He noted that the Assembly will not tolerate projects that begin to deteriorate shortly after completion, emphasizing the need for value for money.

Speaking at the event, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Majeed Dorkrugu, revealed that the Assembly has lined up over 19 projects for the year, funded through the District Assembly Common Fund, Internally Generated Funds, and development.

According to him, the Assembly remains committed to accelerated development in education, health, and community infrastructure.

The MCE further explained that one of the key educational programs for the year is the replacement of blackboards with whiteboards in all classrooms across the municipality.

Modern school furniture will also be distributed, and every classroom block will have storage cabinets to enhance teaching and learning.
End.
