Osuwem Residents Renews Call For Bitumen Roads

Residents of Osuwem in the Shai Osudoku District are urging government to urgently construct bitumen roads to ease movement and support daily economic activities in the enclave.

According to the residents, the stretch linking Osuwem to the Agortor township is in a deplorable state and has never been tarred in their lifetime.
They stress that the road serves as a major link to Aflao, Ada and several adjoining communities, making it a critical route for transporting foodstuffs and other goods.

Assembly Member for the Osuwem Electoral Area, Hon. James Teye Mensah, lamented that the situation worsens anytime it rains, cutting off the entire community as vehicles are unable to move in or out.

Asafoatse Tetteh Kragbordzor II also expressed concern over the frequent disruption of economic activities during rainfall.
He noted that farmers, in particular, bear the brunt as they are unable to transport their produce to nearby markets.

He appealed to government to asphalt the roads to boost farming and economic activities in the area.

Some residents echoed similar sentiments, calling on government to intervene and address the longstanding challenge.
