Former Afram Plains North MP Betty Krosby Mensah Declares Bid For NDC National Women Organiser Position.
Former Member of Parliament for Afram Plains North, Hon. Betty Krosby Mensah, has declared her intention to contest the position of National Women Organiser of the National Democratic Congress, subject to the party’s official guidelines.
In a statement released on Monday, Hon. Mensah said the decision follows months of reflection, consultations, and a nationwide engagement tour across all 16 regions of Ghana.
“After careful reflection, extensive consultations, and a nationwide engagement with the grassroots of our great party, I wish to announce my intention to offer myself for consideration to contest for the position of National Women Organiser,” she stated.
According to her, the tour provided her with a deeper understanding of the hopes, concerns, and expectations of women and the wider party membership.
“I have listened to their voices, shared in their experiences, and received valuable counsel on the direction they believe our Women’s Wing should take,” she added.
Hon. Mensah, who also served as Senior Technical Advisor to the Minister of Sports and Recreation, said her decision is driven not by personal ambition but by a commitment to serve.
“I firmly believe that the women of the NDC are the backbone of our party.
They deserve leadership that listens, organises, recognises their contributions, builds their capacity, and creates opportunities for every woman — from the grassroots level to the national platform,” she said.
She outlined her vision as building a “united, inclusive, and stronger Women’s Wing” focused on effective mobilisation, recognition of women’s contributions, capacity building, and empowerment initiatives to promote economic development and improve livelihoods.
“I therefore humbly seek the trust, confidence, and support of delegates when the party opens nominations as we work together to build a more vibrant Women’s Wing and a stronger National Democratic Congress,” Hon. Mensah concluded.
