Djorkpo Abuvienu Residents Appeals To Greater Accra Regional Minister For Social Amenities

Residents of Djorkpo Abuvienu in the Shai Osudoku District are calling out to the Greater Accra Regional Minister and the Member of Parliament for Shai Osudoku, Linda Ohenewaa Akweley Ocloo, for the provision of social amenities in the community.

Addressing the Media, Torgbe Atsu Havor Awuteh III, an opinion leader at Djorkpo Abuvienu, noted that the community lacks numerous social amenities, including a lack of portable drinking water, a poor road network, a lack of health facilities, and inadequate telecommunication networks, among others.

He disclosed that these amenities has been eluding them for many decades, which is affecting the development of the area.

According to him, the lack of social amenities challenges in the area has forced a lot of teachers, nurses, and other government workers to refuse postings to the community, which is a worry to the residents.

He added that the community has been able to mobilize and has started a self-help project by building a temporary health facility for first aid treatment for the residents, but it has been abandoned due to a lack of funding.

He therefore called on the Member of Parliament for Shai Osudoku Constituency who doubles as the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ohenewaa Akweley Ocloo, and all natives of Djorkpo Abuvienu to come to aid and support them during the Midezor Festival in January to enable them to raise funds for the completion of the abandoned health facility.

Some of the Residents at Djorkpo Abuvienu, in an interview with Angel News Reporter Jaman Dehyee Opambour,  appealed to authorities as a matter of urgency to come to their aid.
