No Tolerance For Deviant Behaviour This Christmas –Jomoro Mce Warns

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Jomoro in the Western Region, Benedict Boadi, has cautioned the youth in the municipality to desist from all forms of deviant behaviour during the Christmas festivities.

According to him, Christmas is a period meant for sober reflection to mark the birth of Jesus Christ, as well as a time for families and communities to celebrate peacefully.

He noted, however, that in recent times some youth rather engage in social vices that put their lives and the safety of others at risk.

The MCE expressed concern over the abuse of drugs such as tramadol and other substances, as well as acts of indiscipline that often characterise festive seasons.

He warned that the Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) will deploy adequate security personnel across the municipality to clamp down on crime and maintain law and order throughout the celebrations.

Mr. Boadi also cautioned okada riders and drivers to strictly observe road safety regulations to ensure an accident-free Christmas.

He made these remarks at Half Assini during the launch of activities to mark this year’s Christmas celebrations in the area.

Meanwhile, the Western Regional Chairman of the NPP and Chairman of the Christmas Planning Committee, Francis Ndede Siah, in an interview with our reporter Nana Fynn, assured residents of well-organised and peaceful activities for the festive season, urging all to cooperate with security agencies to make the celebrations memorable and safe.
