Gunfire And Violence Rock Mankessim Ekumfi Eyisam And Mankessim Boys Clash, Alleged Leaving One Dead And Several Injured With Gun And Cutlass Worn

A New Year’s Day celebration turned tragic in Mankessim in the mfantseman municipality, Central Region, as a violent confrontation erupted between groups from Ekumfi Eyisam and Mankessim.

The incident, which occurred on January 1, 2026, resulted in one fatality and left several others injured, raising concerns about escalating violence in the area.

The violence reportedly began when a group from Ekumfi Eyisam encountered individuals from Mankessim near the Saltpond beach.3 days ago.

The initial altercation quickly escalated, with reports of weapons being used, including guns, cutlasses, and sticks.

The fight moved to the Shell filling station near Chicken Man Pizza shop. Local police intervened, firing warning shots in an attempt to disperse the crowd.

However, they were unable to make any arrests as the violence continued.
Tragically, one individual, identified as Mr. Wisdom, was allegedly shot and killed during the clash.

Other injuries include one person who sustained a face injury from pure acid.

The police are currently investigating the incident.

The authorities are working to determine the cause of the conflict, identify those involved, and bring them to justice.

The community is left reeling from the violence, and there is a call for peace and a thorough investigation to prevent future incidents.
