Okyenhene Brings Peace To 200-Acre Land Conflict Between Odauhene,Etwereso Cocoa Farmers

Okyenhene Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin has intervened to resolve a 200-acre land dispute between the Odauhene, Daasebre Ofosu Kwabi Ayebiawhe, and cocoa farmers from Akyem Etwereso in the Akyemansa District of the Eastern Region.

The farmers had staged protests, accusing traditional authorities of forcibly taking over their land.

At a Judicial Committee meeting, Okyenhene called for peace and unity, and established a committee to negotiate compensation for the affected farmers.

Okyenhene Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin has stepped in to resolve a long-standing 200-acre land dispute between the Odauhene, Daasebre Ofosu Kwabi Ayebiawhe, and cocoa farmers from Etwereso in the Akyemansa District of the Eastern Region.

The cocoa farmers had recently staged protests, accusing the traditional authorities of forcefully taking over their land.

 

During a Judicial Committee meeting, Okyenhene urged for peace and unity between all parties involved.

To address the issue, he asked the traditional leaders and the cocoa farmers to set up a committee to negotiate compensation for the affected farmers, ensuring a fair resolution for everyone.

Speaking to the media, Chief of Akyem Etwereso and President of Akyemansa Chiefs and Queen Mothers Association, Daasebre Ofosu Kwabi Ayebiahwe said the intervention by Okyenhene
aims to restore harmony and bring about a fair settlement to the land dispute.
