Promoting Religious Tolerance Assin Central MP Presents Items To Muslims To Support Ramadan Observance.

The Member of Parliament for the Assin Central Constituency, Hon. Nurein Shaibu Migyimah, has donated a large quantity of food items to Muslim communities in the area to support them during the holy month of Ramadan.

The items, which included 100 bags of sugar, 100 bags of rice, bottles of cooking oil, 1,000 prayer mats, and 1,000 ablution kettles (locally known as buta), were presented to the Assin Fosu District Chief Imam for distribution to various Muslim communities within the municipality.

The gesture, according to the MP, forms part of his annual support to Muslim communities in the constituency, an initiative he has sustained for the past ten years.

He noted that the donation is aimed at promoting religious tolerance, strengthening community solidarity, and supporting Muslims during the fasting period.

Hon. Migyimah commended the Muslim community for continuously praying for peace and stability in the country despite the challenges many individuals face.

He also urged Muslims, particularly the youth, to observe the Ramadan period with discipline and moderation, and to avoid activities that could undermine the spiritual significance of the holy month.

Meanwhile, the Municipal Chief Executive for the Assin Fosu Municipality, Hon. Baba Gariba Adams, described the gesture as timely, especially considering the current economic hardships facing many households.

He encouraged the Muslim community to continue praying for peace, unity, and national development, emphasizing the need for all citizens to work together to address the country’s challenges.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Muslim community, the Deputy Chief Imam for Assin Fosu Municipal, Alhaji Silina Salifu, expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament for the kind gesture and prayed for Allah’s blessings upon him.

He also called on other well-meaning individuals to emulate the MP’s example by supporting the needy during the Ramadan period.
