Minority Caucus In Parliament Pays Curtesy Call On Offinso manhene As They Began Their 5- Day Tour Focused On Cocoa Price CUT.

The Minority caucus in Parliament has paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Offinso, Nana Dwamena Akenten II as part of their 5-day activities to engage with cocoa farmers in the Ashanti Region about recent cocoa price reductions.

This engagement appears to be focused on addressing concerns about the recent decline in cocoa prices and discussing potential solutions or support measures for farmers in the region.

The delegation was led by Hon. Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the MP for Nsawam-Adoagyiri and the Minority Chief Whip in Parliament.

According to Hon. Frank Annoh-Dompreh who spoke on behalf of the Minority caucus said, the courtesy call aimed to inform the Offinsomanhene on their 5-days interaction with cocoa farmers in the Ashanti Region regarding the government’s recent price reduction of cocoa price and to seek the Offinsomanhene’s blessings and backing for the programme’s success, given his role in overseeing Asanteman in the absence of His.Royal Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu II.

He also indicated that, the engagement also aimed to Identify challenges confronting cocoa farmers due to the government’s cocoa price reduction decision and present a report to His Royal Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu II seeking his intervention to have the government reverse its decision.

He further reaffirm the Minority caucus commitment to supporting cocoa farmers accros the country in these difficult times.

The Chief of Offinso, Nana Dwamena Akenten II in his remarks during the engagement urged the minority caucus to approach the concerns of cocoa farmers with fairness and to ensure that the issue is treated as a national matter rather than a partisan political contest.
