The Member of Parliament for Salaga South, Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has donated assorted food items to support vulnerable groups in her constituency as part of preparations for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

The donation, made on Thursday, March 19, 2026, was presented to the KAN FM Zakatul-Fitr Committee for distribution to widows, orphans, the elderly, persons with special needs, needy Muslims, and other disadvantaged individuals within the constituency.

Items donated included 200 bags of 5kg rice, 17 cartons of cooking oil, 20 cartons of mackerel, and 15 cartons of tomato puree.

Speaking during the presentation, the MP noted that the initiative forms part of her long-standing annual commitment over the past seven years to support deprived households during the sacred period.

She commended the Zakatul-Fitr Committee for its dedication and consistency in serving the less privileged in the community.

She also used the occasion to call for prayers for the Kpembewura, Yiram, former President John Dramani Mahama, and Dr. Callistus Mahama.

Additionally, she reassured constituents of ongoing efforts to address key developmental challenges in the municipality, including the construction of a power substation, improvement of road networks, expansion of water supply, and completion of the abandoned 60-bed Euroget Hospital project.

On behalf of the Committee, Malam Latif expressed appreciation for the MP’s continued support and offered prayers for her leadership.

He noted that her contributions to the Committee predate her tenure as Member of Parliament.

The presentation was attended by several dignitaries, including Hon. Kassim Yazid Rabiu, Municipal Chief Executive nominee; Alhaji Shaibu Wakaso; Alhaji Kawurbi Adams; members of the Council of Elders; Mr. Haruna Abdul Aziz, Constituency Chairman; constituency executives; and staff from the MP’s office.

The gesture underscores the MP’s commitment to social welfare and inclusive development, particularly during significant religious observances.
