DCE Vandalises Illegal Mining Site In Gomoa Central.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Gomoa Central, Hon. Hackman Kwabina Aidoo, together with the District Task Force, has led an operation to vandalise an illegal mining (galamsey) site in the district as part of efforts to clamp down on the activity.
The exercise, which took place today, forms part of government’s ongoing measures to stop illegal mining and protect the environment and water bodies in the area.
Speaking to Angel TV reporter Nana Kojo Asare, Hon. Hackman Kwabina Aidoo cautioned the youth engaged in galamsey activities to immediately desist from the practice.
He emphasized that the government, under the directive of the President, is committed to ending illegal mining across the country.
The DCE warned that anyone found engaging in galamsey within the Gomoa Central District will face the full rigours of the law.
He also used the opportunity to outline several measures being implemented by the District Assembly and the security task force to monitor and prevent illegal mining activities in the area.
Hon. Hackman Kwabina Aidoo further called on chiefs, community leaders, and residents to support the fight against galamsey by reporting any illegal mining activities to the authorities.
He stressed that protecting the environment is a collective responsibility and urged the youth to seek alternative livelihoods instead of engaging in activities that destroy farmlands and water bodies.
End.
