This overwhelming support underscores the assembly’s satisfaction with his leadership and his commitment to the district’s progress.
During his acceptance address, Hon. Richardson expressed his gratitude for the renewed mandate and immediately appealed to the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Ishmael Nana Asamoah, for the prompt allocation of his office.
“I am eager to resume my duties and dedicate myself to the hard work required to further support the development of our district, our assembly members, and the electoral areas, he stated.
Reflecting on his previous term, Hon. Richardson highlighted the significant achievements made under his leadership.
He proudly noted that Ekumfi District attained the highest position in the Central Region for performance assessment during his tenure.
“This accomplishment is a testament to our collective efforts,” he remarked, urging all assembly members to remain united and supportive.
“Let us continue to work diligently together to eradicate poverty and invigorate our local economy.”
Hon. Richardson’s re-election signals a strong commitment from the Ekumfi District Assembly to continue its trajectory of development and effective governance.
His focus on tangible results and collaborative efforts appears to resonate deeply with the assembly members, setting a positive tone for the upcoming term.
Ekumfi District is on a remarkable upward trajectory, according to District Chief Executive Officer, Hon. Ishmael Nana Asamoah.
He proudly announced that the district has secured the top spot for performance assessment in the Central Region, a testament to their robust efforts in internal revenue mobilization and generation.
Our internal revenue streams are now at a very healthy stage,” Hon. Asamoah stated, highlighting that the district successfully met a significant 60% of its annual revenue target during the past year, 2025.
This impressive achievement sets a strong foundation for future growth and development initiatives.
With the recent election of a presiding member, the district leadership is poised to foster even greater collaboration.
“We will now work hand-in-hand, with renewed vigor, to propel Ekumfi forward,” Hon. Asamoah emphasized.
The district has also seen substantial progress on its development agenda.
Many projects are nearing completion, with only commissioning left, while others that were abandoned in 2024 are now actively being pursued and some have already been successfully completed.
In light of these advancements, Hon. Asamoah issued a heartfelt appeal to assembly members, traditional leaders (nananom), and all individuals within the district.
“Let us unite, remain calm, and collectively address any challenges that arise.
Together, we can make Ekumfi the leading district in terms of development, he urged. This call for unity underscores the shared vision for a prosperous and thriving Ekumfi.
Ekumfi Abakah’s Chief, Nana Apah Kwrankye, who also served on the Ekumfi District Assembly, has issued a strong call for the early inclusion of traditional leaders in development initiatives.
He highlighted how delays often occur when communities and their chiefs aren’t informed promptly, hindering progress. Nana Apah Kwrankye expressed deep concern over his own town’s perceived neglect, emphasizing the critical need for a CHPS compound or clinic.
Currently, residents face long journeys to Mankessim for medical attention, a situation he described as a significant hardship.
The chief urged for a united front to propel Ekumfi’s development forward.
