Two Perish In Fatal Crash At Third Ridge, Cape Coast.

Two persons have lost their lives, with five others sustaining injuries, in a gory road traffic accident at Third Ridge Junction on the Accra–Cape Coast Highway.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at approximately 7am,
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service, Cape Coast Regional Headquarters, responded promptly to the distress call.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed the crash involved a Toyota Corolla, registration GW-5769-16, and a HOWO tipper truck, registration GN-1497-22.

The Corolla driver, trapped behind the steering wheel, was extricated by fire personnel but was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Addressing the media,Central Regional Commander of Ghana Fire Service,ACFO Merinder Mary Attigah-Mensah.
explain that, the Toyota Corolla was heading from Cape Coast towards Accra when its driver noticed a pick-up vehicle dangerously overtaking and cutting into the lane of the oncoming HOWO tipper truck.

The Corolla driver slowed down to avoid a collision.
The tipper truck, traveling in the opposite direction, veered into the outer lane to accommodate the pick-up.

But while trying to return to its lane, the driver lost control and smashed head-on into the Toyota Corolla.
Commander,added that investigating the crash as a stark reminder for all drivers to prioritize caution on our highways.

She called on stakeholders to organize an training for drivers on road regulations.
