Gomoa Fawomanye Leaders Appeal For Health Center And Youth Support.

Leaders of Gomoa Fawomanye in the Agona East District are appealing to government and stakeholders for support to complete a community health center and to create job opportunities for the youth. Joseph Cobbina report.

The Odikro of Gomoa Fawomanye, Nana Ansah Sekyi, says the health center, once completed, will significantly improve healthcare delivery for the town and surrounding communities.

He is appealing to the Member of Parliament for Agona East, Queenster Pokua Sawyer, and the District Chief Executive, Samuel Oscar Mensah, to help finish the project.

According to the chief, residents currently travel long distances to Agona Swedru for medical care. Pregnant women are often transported on motorbikes to the Agona Swedru Government Hospital, a situation he calls unsafe and inconvenient.

We are asking government and all stakeholders to come to our aid. This health center will save lives and bring healthcare closer to our people.

He made this known during enstooment of some chiefs in the Gomoa Fawomanye community in the Agona East District of the Central Region

Nana Ansah Sekyi is also urging citizens at home and abroad to support fundraising during this year’s Fawomanye Akwanbo festival. He further called on philanthropists and corporate organizations to contribute toward completing the facility.

On her part, the Queen Mother of Gomoa Fawomanye, Nana Ama Esson III, urged government to provide job opportunities for young people in the community.

She said creating employment would help reduce drug abuse and teenage pregnancy, which are growing concerns in the area.

Community leaders say completing the health center and expanding youth employment are key steps toward improving both health and social outcomes in Gomoa Fawomanye.

End.
