Morkwa Residents Raise Alarm Over Collapsing Bridge.

Residents of Morkwa in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region are appealing to the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Isaac Yawson, and the Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. T.D. Vondee, to urgently repair their deteriorating bridge before it leads to a major disaster.

According to the residents, the bridge has become a death trap as its side guardrails have completely broken off, leaving only a narrow section for motorists and pedestrians to use.

They explained that the bridge has also developed visible cracks, raising fears that it could collapse at any moment.

The residents noted that the bridge serves as a vital link for farmers transporting their produce and for drivers travelling between Morkwa and Dunkwa.

They said motorists are finding it increasingly difficult and dangerous to cross the bridge due to its poor condition.

They warned that if immediate action is not taken to rehabilitate the bridge, lives could be lost, and economic activities in the area could be severely affected.

The community is, therefore, calling on the DCE and the MP to treat the matter as an emergency and ensure the bridge is repaired without delay.

End.
