Minister Encourages Ghanaians To Get Involved During National Clean -Up Exercise To Avoid Flooding.

Deputy Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, Hon. Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for the Awutu Senya West Constituency has encouraged Ghanaians to participate fully in the nationwide clean-up exercise introduced by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.

The exercise forms part of the government’s renewed efforts to improve environmental sanitation, desilt drains, and reduce the risk of flooding across the country.

Residents, traditional leaders, and community volunteers actively participated in cleaning the streets and clearing choked gutters to promote a cleaner and healthier environment.

Speaking to Angel news during the exercise, Hon. Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui urged residents to maintain clean surroundings at all times, stressing that good sanitation is essential for healthy living.

Meanwhile, the District Chief Executive for Awutu Senya West, Hon. Kalala Nyamekye Eghan, disclosed that the Assembly has launched a two-week clean-up campaign in the district’s major markets to rid them of filth and improve sanitation.

The NDC Constituency Chairman for Awutu Senya West, Captain Nathaniel Anderson, also commended President John Dramani Mahama for introducing the nationwide clean-up exercise, describing it as a timely initiative to combat poor sanitation and keep communities clean.
