MCE To Evacuate Roadside Traders To New Kodie Market From July 31.

The District Chief Executive for Afigya Kwabre South, Hon. Patricia Pearl Ankrah, has announced plans to evacuate all traders trading along roadside in Kodie to the newly constructed Kodie Market.
According to her, the exercise will commence on 31st July 2026 as part of efforts to decongest the streets and improve the living conditions of residents in Kodie, the District Capital.
“We want you to use the market. We don’t want any form of trading on the roadside in our community. We should all move to the market,” Hon. Ankrah told residents during a community engagement.
The DCE met with residents of Kodie to account for development projects undertaken in the area since she assumed office. She highlighted road improvements, support to schools, and health interventions carried out across the municipality.
As part of her visit, Hon. Ankrah donated 100 bags of cement and weedicide to the community to support an ongoing self-help project being undertaken by residents.
She also called on the people of Kodie to continue supporting the NDC government to enable the district to attract more development projects.
Meanwhile, the Benkumhene of Kodie traditional council Nana Kwesi Boffour applauded the DCE for the tour and her commitment to the community.
He disclosed that the Chiefs in the District stand firmly behind her and assured her that his doors remain open for development.
