Central University Launches “Pre-Bar Course” To Prepare Law Students For Legal Practice.

Central University has launched a new “Pre-Bar Course” in Kumasi, aimed at preparing law students for legal practice. The program is themed, _”The Central Pathway to Becoming a Lawyer in the New Legal Era.”_

The course was unveiled at a ceremony on campus, attended by faculty, students, and legal practitioners.

Prof. Ken Agyemang Atefah, who is the Deen of Central Law School, in an interview with our news reporter, Bismark Mensah, said the Pre-Bar Course is designed to bridge the gap between academic law and professional practice. It will focus on advocacy, legal ethics, drafting, and preparation for the Ghana School of Law entrance exams.

“The theme ‘The Central Pathway to Becoming a Lawyer in the New Legal Era’ reflects our commitment to producing lawyers who are not only knowledgeable, but also practical and technology-driven to meet current demands.”_

He said the program will give Central University law graduates a competitive edge by equipping them with the skills needed to excel in today’s evolving legal landscape.

Prof. Ken Agyemang Atefah also added that, the Central University’s admissions for the first cohort of the Pre-Bar Course 2026/2027 are now opened.

On his part, the Vice Chancellor for the Central University, Prof. Kwasi Dartey Baah, also had this to this.
