Kuntanase Yokohene And Edwinasehene Denies Arrest And Sexual Assault Allegations, Blames Impostor.

Nana Agyemang Badu Wiredu II, the Kuntanase Yokohene and Edwinasehene, has publicly denied rumours circulating on social media and within some communities alleging that he was arrested over the alleged sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl.

Speaking from his palace, Nana Agyemang Badu Wiredu II described the reports as false and damaging to his reputation and the dignity of the Kuntanase and Edwinase stools.

I am in my palace serving my people. I have not been arrested, and I have not sexually assaulted anyone, he said.

The allegations being circulated against me are completely false.

According to Nana Agyemang Badu Wiredu II, the person allegedly involved in the reported incident is Kofi Owusu, whom he described as a former occupant of the Kuntanase Yokohene and Edwinasehene stool.

He claimed that Kofi Owusu was removed from the throne by the Paramount Chief (Omanhene) of the Kuntanase Traditional Council, Barima Ogyeabour Amankwaa Adunan II, and therefore no longer has the authority to represent himself as a chief.

Nana Agyemang Badu Wiredu II further alleged that Kofi Owusu was arrested by the Asokwa Police in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a young woman who worked at his herbal shop.

He also claimed that the complainant is a granddaughter of the Otumfuo Soodohene of Pramso. These allegations have not been independently verified.

The chief appealed to the Asokwa Police Command to investigate the matter thoroughly, including the use of his chieftaincy title by Kofi Owusu.

In an interview with Angel News reporter Kesse Solomon, Abusuapain Kwadwo Appiah and Okyeame Asumi also rejected the rumours.

Abusuapain Kwadwo Appiah said Nana Agyemang Badu Wiredu II is the legitimate Kuntanase Yokohene and Edwinasehene and has not committed any sexual offence.

Okyeame Asumi also maintained that Kofi Owusu is not the legitimate Kuntanase Yokohene and Edwinasehene and urged the public not to recognize any claim by him to the stool.
