Galamsey Poses Threat To Herbal Medicine, Government Must Make Stronger Environmental Bylaws To Reduce It- Dr. Antwi.

A Renown Herbal medicine Doctor Who doubles as Environmental experts Dr. Antwi Dankwa being the CEO of Antwi herbal and spiritual centre has called on government to establish a stronger Environmental Bylaws to curb the growing activities of illegal mining in the country.

Dr. Antwi has warned that, if urgent steps are not taken to protect Reserve Forests, water bodies and lands from illegal mining and environmental degradation it would seriously affect the impact of Herbal medicine in Ghana.

According to him, he now travel from Ghana to Liberia for fresh herbs since the chemicals been used by illegal miners is gradually forcing the Ghanaian herbs to loose it medicinal values a situation he echoed that it could become scarce in the coming decades if governments fail to take decisive action against illegal mining and pollution.

Dr. Antwi who received an Award spoke to the media during the 25th Anniversary of KNUST Department of Herbal Medicine celebrating the climax in Kumasi

He further used the opportunity to debunk the perception that herbal medicine has side effects that sometimes affect the kidney and other organs of the human body, it’s false and fabrications, he added

He has however advised all Africans to embrace herbal medicine for healthier lifestyle.
