MoFA Distributes 1,500 Bags Of Fertilizer To Asutifi North Farmers.

The Asutifi North District Agric Directorate in the Ahafo Region has distributed 1,500 bags of NPK fertilizer and Urea to farmers across the district to support agricultural production.

Speaking during the distribution exercise at Kenyasi, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asutifi North, Hon.Hafiz Dauda Debeil, encouraged the beneficiary farmers to venture into commercial farming to help increase food production and improve their livelihoods.

Hon.Hafiz Dauda Debeil assured the farmers that the government, through the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, remains committed to providing farmers with the necessary equipment and agricultural inputs to boost productivity.

He disclosed that the Assembly has allocated 10 acres of land to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture for the construction of a District Farmer Service Centre.

The facility, he said, will serve as a storage and support centre for agricultural inputs and equipment for farmers in the district.

The Asutifi North District Director of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA), Mr. Godfred Ezena, urged the beneficiaries to use the fertilizer for its intended purpose and cautioned them against selling it.

He warned that farmers who sell the subsidized fertilizer risk losing access to government support in the future.

Some of the beneficiary farmers expressed their appreciation to the government for the fertilizer support and appealed for continued assistance to enable them to expand their farming activities.
